Adam Fletcher

Adam Fletcher is an internationally-recognized expert on youth engagement and meaningful student involvement. He has worked directly with 1000s of students, teachers, youth workers and others in K-12 schools, community organizations, and government agencies across the U.S. and Canada.

Born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Adam spent his teen years growing up in a high-risk neighborhood in the Midwestern United States. At the age of 15 Adam Fletcher led an environmental justice campaign in his local high school, and 17 he started the first youth council in his low-income neighborhood. Since then he has led more than 50 youth projects, and founded two highly-renowned youth voice programs: SoundOut, promoting student voice in schools, and The Freechild Project, focused on engaging young people in social change. Today Adam is a private consultant and freelance writer who works with youth organizations, K-12 schools, private foundations and other organizations committed to youth engagement.
